Air Intake Systems Help Improve Engine Performance

One of the most cost effective ways to improve diesel performance is with an aftermarket air intake system. A few hundred bucks will help your diesel get fresh filtered air moving into the induction system for a more impactful combustion process. Most aftermarket systems include a silicone, plastic, or metal molded routing tube from the air filter to the turbocharger which allows the engine to pull in lower atmospheric temperatures. The cold air is more oxygen dense than stale air from a factory intake. This allows for more power to be created during the power making process. The intake system air filter is usually placed proximally toward the coolest place in the engine compartment for ease of pulling in fresh air flow and as distant from the engine as possible. This help keep hot air from entering.
